Christmas Gala: The Guardians of Christmas
Saturday, December 1, 2018, 7:30 p.m.
Monroe Civic Center  Theatre

As children all over the world become more and more involved with video games, sports and tweets... they believe less and less in things they can’t see. Santa’s Magical Hope Chest holds the beliefs for all the children in the world, and it’s almost empty! Watch, as Jack Frost, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and other protectors aid Santa in the search for one special child, who can once again fill his Magical Hope Chest with enough belief for the whole world. Children and adults alike will delight in seeing Joe Istre’s exciting production of The Guardians of Christmas.

In addition to The Guardians, the annual Gala performance will feature an evening of dance balanced with traditional hymns and contemporary voices. Celebrate the true gift of Christmas, as you enjoy this beautifully choreographed piece by Leaia Alsup. Your soul and spirit will surely be filled with peace, love and joy.

Ballet Under the Stars
April 26-28, 2019 | Kiroli Park Amphitheater

Spring is in the air and so is the joy of dance! The public is invited to join us for Ballet Under the Stars, North Louisiana’s signature spring arts event. Beautiful dancers and an unbelievable outdoor setting combine to make an unforgettable evening of dance. This two-act concert offers something for everyone.

Act I, The Magical Garden, has been written and choreographed by none other than our very own Joe Istre. This delightful tale is about a young girl named Mary, who moves from India to England, and begins to meet an array of new characters at her new home. As winter begins to fade, spring is welcomed and Mary discovers a magical garden where everything has come to life! Soon, the garden is full of insects of all types, dancing and singing as they prepare for their annual Ugly Bug Ball. As the flowers begin to bloom, Mary is delighted with this new place she can call home, as well as all of nature’s creatures!

Act II will be a beautiful blend of all the things dance can and should be - inspirational, engaging and fun.  The dancers will showcase choreography by Krislynne Flowers, Diane Maroney-Grigsby, Leaia Alsup, Cherri Barnett and Joe Istre.  Former TCB dancer Jacie Scott of the famed NYC Rockettes, and our favorite vocalist, Jodi Wright, will join the company as guest artists. Come to beautiful Kiroli Park and enjoy an evening of dance!
